Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information GoHop (operated by Black Star LIMO, LLC) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers two different roles we play: GoHop is the controller of the information you give us directly as a GoHop customer (your account, billing, and team data), and a processor of the click data your own links generate from your visitors, which you control.

1. Information we collect

Account information

• Email address, company/account name, and password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text).
• Team member emails and roles, if you invite others to your account.

Billing information

Subscription payments are handled by Stripe. We store your plan, billing interval, and a Stripe-issued customer/subscription reference - we never see or store your full card number.

Link and click data

When someone clicks a link you've created, we log: the destination resolved, IP address, approximate country (from IP), device type, browser, operating system, language, and referring page. This data is shown to you in your analytics dashboard and is used to power features like bot filtering and rotator targeting.

Cookies

• A session cookie, so you stay logged in.
• A "sticky visitor" cookie on rotator links, used only if you've enabled sticky routing on that rotator, so a repeat visitor keeps landing on the same destination.

2. How we use information

• To operate and maintain your account and the links/rotators you create.
• To process subscription payments and send billing-related notices.
• To send transactional email: account verification, password resets, team invites, and rotator alerts you've configured.
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and violations of our Acceptable Use Policy.
• To improve the service - for example, understanding which features are used and how the redirect engine performs.

3. Who we share information with

We don't sell personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run GoHop, and only as needed for them to provide their service to us:

• Stripe - payment processing.
• Your configured SMTP provider - delivering account and notification emails.
• IPinfo - resolving a click's approximate country, if enabled. IP address data is powered by IPinfo.
• A QR code generation provider - rendering QR codes for your links, if you generate one.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of GoHop, our users, or the public.

4. Data retention

• Account data is kept for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward in case you reactivate or as needed for legal/tax purposes.
• Click history is retained on a rolling basis (the retention window is configurable by the GoHop operator) and pruned automatically after that window.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@gohop.pro. If you're in the EU/UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

6. If you're a visitor clicking someone else's GoHop link

If you clicked a GoHop short link, the account holder who created that link controls how its destination and any onward data collection works. GoHop processes the click data described above on that account holder's behalf. Questions about a specific link should go to whoever shared it with you.

7. Children's privacy

GoHop is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 18 (or the age of majority where they live). We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including password hashing, HTTPS encryption in transit, and access controls on our database and admin systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

9. International transfers

GoHop's infrastructure is located in the United States. If you're accessing GoHop from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in that location.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced (for example, by email or an in-app notice) before they take effect.
